So, when it came time to renovate the 6-building 48-bath vacation community, a design that would appeal to a variety of tastes was required. Checking off all the boxes for the Caribbean resort’s bath remodel is Strasser Woodenworks’ Montlake vanity. With a timeless design that’s warm and welcoming, the vanity also demonstrated its strength by standing up to a devastating hurricane, which kept the remodel’s timeline right on track. “The container of vanities, mirrors, and countertops arrived the week before Hurricane Irma pummeled the Caribbean. After searching for the container for over a week since we had no phone service, electricity, or internet, we found it and discovered that, fortunately, none of its contents were damaged!” explains Marianne Salaymeh, who had a hands-on role as head of the project’s bathroom design committee. “After the storm, we thought that the project would have to be postponed for another year. Instead, construction got started right away and we celebrated our grand reopening right on time!” Salaymeh worked closely with Strasser’s Vice President of Sales, Peter Ollestad the decision-making and design process. All of the beach resort’s owners needed to agree on one style—something Salaymeh knew would be no easy feat. “With a timeless design that blends with a variety of décor styles, the Montlake design appeals to a wide range of tastes, which was an absolute requirement,” Ollestad explains. The Cinnamon Cherry finished Montlake vanity with Ogee Miter door style resonated with all of the owners. Topped with Cotton White quartz countertops, the look is elegant yet casual and relaxed at the same time. Matching mirrors and Chrome hardware put the Finishing Touches to the new bathroom design while helping to keep the distinctive beach charm. Since getting the necessary construction materials to a small island can be complicated, the resort needed cabinetry that would stand the test of time. The bathroom design committee was drawn to the quality and “Made in the USA” craftsmanship, including solid wood doors and legs that are built-to-order, soft-close drawers, and solid dovetail construction. While the resort installed the 48-inch size, the Montlake Vanity comes in 72-, 60-, 42-, 36-, 30-, 24, and 18-inch widths. In addition to the Cinnamon Cherry finish that works so well for the Caribbean setting, the collection is available in a choice of 15 hand-rubbed finishes, a technique that allows the wood grain to show through even on the darkest stained finishes. Polished Chrome knobs help to create the casually elegant vibe the owners were seeking. But the company also offers bar handles, arched handles, or pulls in Satin Nickel or Oiled Bronze to achieve the desired look. Additional coordinating elements include mirrors, medicine cabinets, and a 70-inch tall linen tower. “Beach Club owners were impressed by the beauty and quality of Strasser Woodenworks products from the start. After the hurricane hammered the resort and the vanities remained untouched, the owners couldn’t have been more confident of and pleased with the choice,” says Salaymeh. Not only did phase one of the project move along on time, but phase two has just been completed. A final phase three will complete the renovation next year. Learn more at www.carimar.com.
