With shades of blue trending throughout the home, this exciting color offers a modern option for making a bold statement in the bath
(Woodinville, WA, April 24, 2018) Strasser Woodenworks introduces an enchanting new finish for their finely crafted solid wood bathroom vanities. Comparable to the blue that Van Gogh used in his masterpiece “Starry Night,” Lapis Night is a dramatic yet surprisingly versatile color that allows homeowners, designers, and hoteliers alike to add unique personality to the bath.
Lapis was the most expensive pigment available to the most important artists of the Renaissance and Baroque periods. Made by crushing the lapis lazuli stone—a deep blue metamorphic rock prized for its intense color—into a fine powder, it was often reserved for the central figure of the painting. The Great Masters including Masaccio, Perugino, Titian, and Vermeer turned it into some of history’s most influential pieces of art and jewelry.
“For Lapis Night, we wanted to reflect the true colors of the lapis lazuli stone,” says Judy Hedreen, development manager and co-owner of Strasser Woodenworks. “It’s a rich, accessible color that works beautifully with contemporary and transitional styles. And because Lapis Night harkens back to the Old Masters, the color also works for traditional looks, especially for those looking to emulate the early Colonial American Williamsburg style,” Hedreen adds.
Pairing well with accents of yellow, peach, and pumpkin, Lapis Night allows for the creation of a space that’s truly one-of-a-kind. Complementary colors include Navajo White, latte, and light rose gold, and the rich hue works beautifully with Brushed Nickel or Satin Champagne Bronze knobs and pulls.
The Lapis Night finish is available in the Alki Essence, Alki Spa, Alki View, Belltown, and SoDo vanities, and is available in shaker, slab, and deco miter door styles.
